Shelley considers herself a family and systems therapist at heart. Her early years spent working in community-based residential and school-based mental health settings taught her to understand and appreciate more fully the difficulties individuals and families experience when interacting with various, complicated systems. Shelley feels she’s been providing mental health services to emerging adults since being a resident assistant in college when many of life’s challenges are first experienced. Shelley is enjoying the energy and eagerness of a new four-legged friend who reminds her every day to be more mindful and ‘live in the moment’. Shelley has specialized training in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing).
